About Success Just Clicks Dog Training
SJC was started in 2011 by Tena Parker, CPDT-KA after years of dog training as a serious hobby and volunteer activity.
SJC was born out of the idea that training, even serious training for competition or for behavior problems, should be a positive and enjoyable experience for both the dog and the people involved. Tena saw a need for a training option in the Pittsburgh area that was more holistic in nature–a training business that put just as much emphasis on the human students’ learning and feeling supported as the dogs’.
When training with SJC, a student can expect to have fun, feel supported, have a dedicated problem solver, and an honest source of advice and information. Tena projects herself as a source of calm and grounded support for her students–there is lots of praise and cheerleading for students (both human and canine) working hard but always a sense of calm.
SJC provides individual instruction and behavior plans on a wide variety of topics and behaviors.
- Basic Manners
- Puppy Manners
- Competition Rally-O
- Canine Sport Foundations
- On Leash Reactivity
- Resource Guarding
- Confidence Building/Reducing Fear
- Greeting People Appropriately/Manners For Visitors
SJC also offers periodic social walks where students get together for an on leash social walk and some training in a new an outdoor environment. These walks are great opportunities to practice manners in new environments, for humans so socialize, and for dogs to socialize without the pressure to interact closely or play. In the photo to the left, Scout, Sherman, and Geryson are all dogs who have been working on dog reactivity challenges!
