As I mentioned the other day, I started selling “Kitty Kick-Bags” as a way to reuse fleece scraps I would normally throw away.  I also mentioned that I would be doing a buy-one, give-one program.  Well, at the end of last week the first set of ten bags sold, so it’s time to have a contest to donate a set of 10 to some kitties in need.

I will be holding this contest on Facebook (because I cannot put the code for the contest on wordpress.com website)–my apologies for those who are not yet on Facebook.  When I get my new website up and running I’ll be able to run the contest on BOTH website and Facebook simultaneously.

A plug for my Etsy Store

Here’s the deal, I rely on the sales of tugs to make my Kitty Kick-Bags.  If I do not sell tugs, I cannot make Kitty Kick-Bags (I need the fleece scraps)… if I cannot make Kitty Kick-Bags, I cannot sell one set of them… if I cannot sell one set of Kitty Kick-Bags, I cannot donate one set of Kitty Kick-Bags… if I cannot donate one set of Kitty Kick-Bags, homeless kitties will be even more sad than they already are 🙁
The more support I get from sales, the more often I’ll be able to absorb the cost of shipping for the contest.  Though most importantly, the more support I get from sales, the more often I’ll be able to donate Kitty Kick-Bags so more shelter/rescue/sanctuary kitties will get to have some fun!

What you win…

Since this is the very first contest/giveaway, I will absorb the cost of shipping (this will not always be the case).  So for this first go-round, the winner will get a set of 10 Kitty Kick-Bags donated to their U.S. shelter/rescue/sanctuary of choice (otherwise the winner would get a coupon code for my Etsy Store).

How it works…

I am running a legit (per the new rules of Facebook) contest through an external application on Facebook (not that you really need to know that but anyhow…).  In order to enter you..

  1. Go to my Tugs By Tena Facebook Page
  2. Click on the “CONTESTS” tab on the left hand side (under my profile picture)
  3. Follow the instructions in the contest tab–you must “like” Tugs By Tena (and then click the “I did that” button in the contest page and include your name and email) and you must comment on the “Time for a Contest” photo (and then click the “I did that” button).  Here’s a short video to show you how to enter if you are confused…

The contest opens 9/12 and will close 9/20.  The contest tool that I’m using will automatically (and “randomly”) select the winner of the contest at the end of the contest period.  I will contact the winner via email (so make sure you provide a legitimate email–per the new rules of FB contests, winners must be contacted outside of FB) and the winner will have to provide me with the shipping address to the shelter/rescue/sanctuary (and if possible the name of a contact at the facility).

The nitty-gritty…

For this FIRST contest, I will pick up the cost of shipping, but that is not always going to be the case.  I’m hoping to run this contest regularly, but that can quickly get expensive.  So, for future contests winner may be responsible for paying for shipping.

This contest is open to everyone where it is legally allowed, but the winner must nominate a shelter/rescue/sanctuary located in the U.S.  There may be some issues shipping catnip internationally–HAHA!  So if you are Canada or Europe or elsewhere, feel free to enter, but you have to pick a U.S. shelter/rescue to receive the toys.

The winning shelter/rescue/sanctuary may only win the donation every 3 Kitty Kick-Bag contests (so the shelter who wins contest 1 cannot win again until contest 5).  If the winner nominates a shelter who has received the donation recently, I will contact them to pick another place to donate.

Only ONE entry per person.  Even if your cat/dog/business has a facebook profile that you post under, please only submit one entry.
