Meet Our Fabulous Training Instructors!

Our staff truly sets us apart from any other training business locally. All of our lead training instructors absolutely must be a certified professional or for sports-only instructors, they must be a judge or national level competitor in that sport. We know that the quality of the instructor improves the quality of instruction and we want our students to have the best.

Kelly Wilson CPDT-KA–Group Classes, Day Training, and Private Lessons

Kelly is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer with CCPDT and is a certified Canine Good Citizen and Star Puppy Evaluator for AKC.  She started her path to dog training as a volunteer at The Western Pennsylvania Humane Society (now Humane Animal Rescue) 20 years ago cleaning dog kennels and walking dogs. She moved into vet tech training, assistant training, and eventually became a lead trainer for their public classes. Over the last 5 years she has adopted much of Tena’s curriculum into her classes at HAR and has assisted Tena to master the SJC curriculum.

She will be teaching Puppy K, Elementary Manners, and Middle School Manners  group starting summer 2021 and will be offering private and private in-home training for basic manners and typical training challenges starting in early fall 2021.  We are very hopeful that she will head up our Therapy Dog program starting in 2022 some time!

Outside of dog training, Kelly ran a very successful pet sitting business for 20 years, prior to taking up training more full time and not seeing pet sitting clients most of the time. She loves learning and has decided to go back to vet tech school to finish what she started many years ago.

Kelly shares her life with her labrador retriever, Bullet, and her senior dog, Penny. She and Bullet are working towards his CGC, Therapy Dog certfiication, and dog sports!

“Hey Kelly, what’s your favorite skill to teach dogs and their owners?”

Mu favorite skill to teach is loose leash walking because so many dog owners have dogs that pull on the leash and dogs that pull on the leash are less likely to get walks that they need to be more relaxed and calm in the home. I know that by helping people with this skill, dogs get more freedom, more walks , more exercise, and more bonding time with their owners. Its a win-win for everyone.

Coleman Fish CPDT-KA, CVT, SJC-CDT –Group Classes, Day Training, and Private Lessons

Coleman spent 4 years in an apprentice program at SJC working up to teaching entire classes on her own. She spent her time learning training skills, the science of training, our training process, plenty of training techniques to problem solve issues, and solid classroom management and human teaching skills. She put all of her knowledge to the test and recently passed her Certified Professional Dog Training exam with flying colors and completed her apprenticeship program earning both her CPDT-KA and SJC-CDT. She is  looking forward to adding CGC evaluator and Certified Trick Dog Instructor to her accolades in the near future!

She loves spending time training her dog, Arvo, in Rally Obedience, Scentwork, tricks, and how to be a good boy on hikes with doggie friends.  Arvo was a wayward hound as young dog and provided a great learning opportunity for her to start handling spicy dogs, but after all her hard work, he’s a fabulous dog sport partner and she’s become a fabulous handler.

While she loves working with all the pups and will be starting with basic training, she has a soft spot for working with spicy dogs and is looking forward to continuing her education in a behavior modification focus, so she can help owners who were like her, struggling with a dog with big feelings.

Outside of dog training, Coleman is a Certified Veterinary Technician working at Point Breeze Veterinary Clinic.
